ADRC also has Elderly Benefit Specialists that provide free advocacy and assistance to Wisconsin residents age 60 or older. “They assist Wisconsin residents with issues related to public and private benefits to which they are entitled due to age, disability, or financial factors. Elderly Benefit Specialists provide information and assistance on a broad range of public benefit programs including Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security retirement, Supplemental Security Income, FoodShare and SeniorCare. They provide information on program eligibility criteria, assistance applying for benefits, and appealing benefit denials or incorrect benefit amounts. Elderly Benefit Specialist’s also offer representation to people age 60 or over in the areas of consumer debt, landlord/tenant law, and private insurance.”

CWAG’s mission is to improve the quality of life for people of all ages through: intergenerational understanding and leadership development, public education, legal and legislative advocacy and public policy development. CWAG’s Elder Law Center is nationally recognized as a provider of legal services and resources to citizens 60 years and older with special emphasis on the frail and vulnerable elderly in need of long-term care. CWAG also provides education and services at the local, state and national levels through training and publications. The Coalition of Wisconsin Aging Groups recognize the financial constraints facing many of Wisconsin’s seniors and provides most of its services free of charge.
